Saarathi Privacy Policy
Updated July 11, 2026
Saarathi collects student, guardian, and educator data to deliver personalised career pathways, assessments, and dashboards. We minimise data retention, respect regional residency requirements, and provide transparency around how insights are generated.
1. Data collected
Core profile fields (name, grade, board), assessment responses, recommendation interactions, and telemetry events from the product experience. No biometric or highly sensitive data is stored.
2. How we use data
Data powers personalised recommendations, cohort analytics, and program optimisation. Aggregated insights may inform product improvements but never identify an individual student without consent.
3. Your controls
Students and guardians can request exports or deletion through their school’s data protection officer. Saarathi supports data portability and erasure within 14 days.
4. Children’s data and parental consent
Saarathi is built for students in Grades 6–10, most of whom are minors. We operate under a school-mediated consent model: the partner school, acting in its educational capacity, is responsible for obtaining and recording guardian consent before a student's data is entered into Saarathi, consistent with applicable school-official/education-purpose exceptions under child data protection law (including COPPA in the US and India's DPDP Act provisions for processing a child's data). Saarathi does not independently market to, advertise to, or solicit personal information from students, and does not sell or share student data with third parties for advertising or unrelated commercial purposes.
A guardian may, at any time, contact their school's data protection officer to review what data has been collected about their child, correct it, or withdraw consent and have it deleted — Saarathi will action a verified deletion request within 14 days. Only the student's own answers, their guardian(s), and their school's authorised staff (teachers, counselors, and admins in their reporting line) can access a given student's assessment responses; Saarathi staff access production student data only for support requests or debugging, under audit log.
5. Data minimisation and retention
We collect only what's needed to generate a student's assessment results and career recommendations — no biometric data, no location tracking, no third-party advertising identifiers. Assessment data is retained for the duration of a student's enrollment with the partner school plus a reasonable archival period agreed with the school, after which it is deleted or anonymised for aggregate research use only.
